Marketing Manager, Content & Brand

At Avela Health, we’re transforming how families access autism care — making it simpler, faster, and more human. Our virtual, family-centered programs are guided by empathy, expertise, and the belief that every person deserves support that truly fits their life.

The Marketing Manager, Content & Brand will own Avela Health’s content and brand presence across web, email, and social — building a content engine that drives measurable growth in organic visibility, audience engagement, and pipeline contribution. This person will translate Avela Health’s brand and clinical messaging into content that reaches families and providers at every stage of their journey, and will be accountable for the metrics that prove it’s working.

This role is ideal for a versatile, metrics-driven marketer with experience across social media, brand content, email, and SEO, who is comfortable owning both strategy and hands-on execution at an early-stage healthcare company.

Responsibilities:

  • Own Avela Health’s content and brand strategy across web, blog, and email, translating brand messaging and voice into consistent, on-brand copy that drives measurable growth in organic traffic, engagement, and audience retention.
  • Own and execute Avela Health’s organic social media strategy — with video as a primary driver — planning, filming, and editing short- and long-form video content using tools like Riverside.fm, and tracking engagement, follower growth, and reach against established goals across every platform.
  • Be fluent in the online autism and neurodiversity landscape — familiar with the creators, advocates, and cultural moments shaping the conversation — and able to translate that context into content and partnerships that feel authentic, not opportunistic.
  • Execute Avela Health’s SEO strategy — optimizing existing web pages, publishing new content against prioritized keyword opportunities, and resolving on-page and technical issues that limit organic visibility.
  • Track and report on organic performance (keyword rankings, organic sessions, page-level conversion) using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMRush, and Ahrefs, adjusting content strategy based on the data.
  • Design promotional materials and other assets — social graphics, one-pagers, email banners, and presentation materials — using tools such as Figma and Canva, maintaining visual consistency with Avela Health’s brand system, escalating more complex design needs to the design team as appropriate.
  • Build, send, and optimize email campaigns in Customer.io — newsletters, nurture sequences, and one-off sends — against clear benchmarks for open rate, click-through rate, and downstream conversion.
  • Collaborate with clinical and leadership stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, compliance, and brand integrity across every channel.
  • Establish and report against measurable goals for each channel — traffic, engagement, email performance, and content-driven pipeline contribution — and translate performance data into recommendations that sharpen strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with clinical, leadership, and growth teams to align content initiatives with Avela Health’s broader acquisition and go-to-market plans.
  • Incorporate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate research, drafting, and campaign planning, while using the judgment to know when a task calls for hands-on craft instead.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in marketing, ideally in a generalist or content-focused role spanning social, web, email, and SEO. Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and deliver against measurable marketing goals, with fluency in translating channel data into strategy adjustments.
  • Strong writing skills, with the range to adapt tone and format across blog, email, and social without losing clarity, warmth, or brand consistency.
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and hands-on experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.
  • Experience building, sending, and analyzing email campaigns (experience in Customer.io and Hubspot preferred).
  • Proficiency with a design tool such as Figma and Canva for producing polished, on-brand visuals without a dedicated designer.
  • Comfort with analytics tools (Google Analytics, UTM tracking) to report on and improve channel performance.
  • Excellent organization and self-direction — this role carries significant ownership with limited layers of oversight.
  • Mission-aligned, empathetic, and energized by serving neurodivergent families.
  • Must be able to work fully remote within the U.S., with reliable overlap during core business hours.
